GARRM 14th INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP (on the GEOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF RADON RISK MAPPING)

From September 18th to 20th, 2018, the WORKSHOP GARRM (geological aspect of radon risk mapping) has been held at Prague, Czech Republic. The workshop has two several main topics, dealing with i) radon risk mapping and radon action plans, including national strategies; ii) radon risk mapping on various scales including geogenic mapping & detailed measurements; iii) delineation of radon prone/priority areas radon in geological environment.

Particular importance has been dedicated to the methods of measurements and classification of radon risk. During the closing day, there were a roundtable discussions on these arguments: the European geogenic radon map and atlas of natural radiation; radon & tectonics; spatial variability of soil gas permeability; radon potential – temporal changes, seasonal variation. During the workshop the result of the Action A have been presented by Dott. Livio Ruggiero (CERI-SAPIENZA) and Giancarlo Ciotoli (CNR-IGAG).
