MetroRadon

CNR-IGAG is involved in the Radon Mapping Exercise within the MetroRADON project, http://metroradon.eu/in the construction of the European Geogenic Radon Map within the European Radon Atlas Project (EARN), Join Research Center of the European Commission, https://remon.jrc.ec.europa.eu/About/Atlas-of-Natural-Radiation. These interactions encountered the milestone provided for the end of September 2018.

More in detail, Giancarlo Ciotoli (CNR-IGAG) is involved in the LIFE metroRadon project in the framework of the WP4: Radon priority areas, Task 4.2: Relationship between indoor radon concentration and geogenic radon. The aim of this task is to estimate relationships between indoor Rn or derived quantities (i.e., the probability of exceeding a reference level within an area) and proxy variables related to geogenic Rn (i.e., Rn potential or uranium concentration in the ground) as some concepts for mapping the geogenic Rn potential and RPA crucially depend on such relationships. In particular, the activity consists in a mapping exercise by using data provided by the metroRadon Group.

A formal networking collaboration between the LIFE metroRadon and the LIFE Respire project is in progress.
