1st Annual Meeting of the Managing risks from radon and NORM (RadonNorm)

The 1st Annual Meeting of the Managing risks from radon and NORM (RadonNorm) project was held online on 6-7 September 2021.
RadoNorm project (EURATOM Horizon 2020) is aimed to risk management from radon and NORM exposure to ensure effective radiation protection based on improved scientific evidence and social considerations. The main impact of the project is to answer open questions related to radon and NORM exposure of humans and the environment and to provide feasible, applicable and widely accepted solutions for radiation risk reduction for individuals and the public.

A representative of the Respire project was invited, as research stakeholders, to explain the stakeholders’ perspectives, priorities and challenges faced when dealing with radon and NORM and to discuss opportunities for potential collaboration with the Respire project in the topics covered by the RadoNorm. This is the first public event of RadoNorm where stakeholders would be involved and would be able to impact the future activities in the project.
